I know it's been a long time since I updated, but I just want to say that I am still working feverishly on my music and this song absolutely blows everything I've ever done out of the water. I have actually finished the song already; I just have to touch some things up before I record it. I'm thinking about scrapping this page on dmusic and just keeping my MySpace page. I think I also need to create my own website, but I don't like to divide my attention away from creating music.

It has been a long time since my last update. All I can say is the song I'm writing is the best thing I have ever done, but it's going depressingly slowly. I scrap 99% of what I write because it's not good enough. I want to start devoting more time to this because one of my goals for 2008 is to put together a band and started playing this stuff live.

It's been about a month since my last update and I figure I should update again. There's not much going on, writing seems to have slowed down again. I really need to concentrate on finding a job or I'm going to be homeless in Copenhagen and the band will never take off. And there's nothing I want more than to be playing shows ASAP.
The song I've been working on now has a name: "Death Incarnate." Yes, I stole it from Kill Bill 2, but I think it's the perfect name for a song about the undead. I have about four minutes of music written. Not sure how long it's going to be, but it doesn't feel like I've reached the end of it yet so I'll just keep on writing. It's the only way to do it!

I've been in Denmark for about a month and a half now. I don't have my guitars, but my roommate's brother let me borrow his acoustic. I haven't been playing much, but now I've finally started working seriously on my new song again. I've been messing with the structure and coming up with some new riffs. I have also been writing lyrics at the same time, which is different for me because I usually write lyrics after the music is already recorded. Here is a sample of the opening lines, even though I keep changing them:
I can feel myself rot
Organs long decomposed
Cause of death forgotten
What is this I've become
It's going to be kind of a dark, gory song... I really like the way the lyrics go with the music.

I am moving to Copenhagen, Denmark in 16 days. I haven't been working on my music... it fucking sucks, but I've been busy planning the move and stuff. I won't even have my guitar with me for at least a few weeks, but hopefully I'll be able to get back into writing mode pretty soon. I really want to have at least one more song written and then start recruiting people to play in my band. I need to be playing live shows within a year.

I'm writing a new song. It is slow, ominous, and once the distortion kicks in, it is a pretty heavy one with a fair amount of groove. Who knows how long it will take me to finish it, but hopefully it won't take as long as No Way Out did!

I have finally finished my new song and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It is the featured song on my page and it is called "No Way Out."

The instrumental portion of my new song is complete, save for one small part in which I am planning to add some keyboard. This should take me less than a day and will be done after I record vocals, that way I can hear how it would work best with the vocals. I still have to write lyrics though and that's the hard part! I don't even know what I will write about. I hope I can get inspired soon and write something really great. I think this song will be done in a month or two.

I have recorded most of the instruments for my new song. All that is left is for me to record solos and vocals. I still have to finish writing the solos and start writing lyrics first though. I think this song will be finished in a month or two. I'm going to see Opeth on Tuesday and I wish I had already finished this song so I could show it to them, but I refuse to rush it.
